Barnes joined Messer in 2010 as a North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in construction management. He began his career with Messer in Louisville, Kentucky, before relocating to Charlotte in 2014. His project experience includes multiple projects for Atrium Health, as well as Johnson C. Smith State University and Union County Public Schools.
Barnes serves as Messer’s Diversity Coordinator in Charlotte and is a Certified Healthcare Constructor through the American Hospital Association, a CICTI Certified Healthcare Manager, associate member of NC Healthcare Engineers Association, associate member of Metrolina Minority Contractors Association, associate member of Hispanic Contractors Association of the Carolinas, and a member on Built Environment Construction Management Advisory Board at NCA and TSU.
Gharst joined Messer in 2015. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Toledo and a master’s degree in business administration from Wright State University. As an Estimating Principal, he leads cost, planning, and estimating efforts across the Charlotte region.
Gharst has been involved in the Professional Construction Estimators of America Charlotte Chapter and serves on the community engagement committee for Loaves and Fishes, an organization that provides groceries and meals for those in need in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area.
