RICHMOND, VA — Clancy & Theys Construction Company announces the promotion of Brian Viau to Vice President of Construction for the Virginia Division. Viau, a nearly 20-year veteran of the company, succeeds Dean Conklin, who recently retired after a 33-year career.
Viau’s promotion builds on his track record of delivering complex projects and fostering client relationships throughout his tenure at Clancy & Theys. Together with Division Manager Chad Cowger, Viau will guide the 85-person Virginia Division, championing initiatives to drive growth across the region.
“Brian’s deep understanding of our culture, his exceptional leadership, and his proven track record with clients make him the ideal person to help lead the Virginia Division into the next phase of success,” said Baker Glasgow, President of Clancy & Theys Construction Company. “His two decades of experience managing complex projects and building lasting client relationships position us well for continued growth and success in Virginia.”
Viau joined Clancy & Theys after graduating with a degree in construction management. He began his career working on projects, including the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts in Virginia Beach and the Casino Club at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. He went on to lead projects across a variety of sectors, from multifamily and hospitality to health care.
“The opportunity to lead this team is truly an honor," Viau said. "I look forward to building on the strong foundation Dean and Bill established, while also looking ahead to adapt to the changes and challenges the industry will bring."
