HARRISONBURG, VA — Barton Malow was recently awarded Phase Two of the James Madison University (JMU) College of Health and Behavioral Studies project in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
This $90 million, over 125,000-square-foot facility will support JMU’s nursing and kinesiology programs with modern spaces, including a clinic, classrooms, labs, administrative offices, and areas to foster community engagement. A two-story connector bridge will also be constructed to link the new building with Phase One, which was completed a decade ago.
“We’re excited to work with James Madison University on the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences Studies Phase Two project,” Barton Malow Senior Director Paul Littlefield said. “This facility represents a meaningful investment in the future of health care and education, and we’re thrilled to collaborate with JMU to bring this vision to life.”
The demolition of an existing parking garage has already begun, with construction starting in spring 2026. The project is expected to be completed by August 2028.
