WASHINGTON, DC — Turner Construction Company joined local leaders and hospital staff to celebrate the grand opening of the $337 million Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center, a health care campus serving Southeast Washington, D.C.
The 363,441-square-foot, six-story acute care hospital offers a full range of inpatient services — including labor and delivery, maternal health, women’s services, general surgery, behavioral health, and a verified trauma center. The facilities are set to enhance access to care while providing a foundation for long-term community well-being.
The project includes a 75,000-square-foot, four-story outpatient health services complex and a 145,000-square-foot parking structure with capacity for 500 vehicles.
“Delivering this transformative health care facility has been a tremendous honor for our team,” said Darien Grant, Vice President and General Manager at Turner Construction Company. “From day one, we’ve been committed to building more than a hospital, aiming to support the community, create jobs, invest in the workforce, and ensure this project reflects the values and needs of the people it serves.”
“Cedar Hill will change the trajectory of health care in our community,” Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said. “This is a first-class hospital staffed by some of the most prestigious health institutions in the world. Families will be able to receive prenatal care and welcome new babies close to home, seniors and residents will have access to the specialists they need, and trauma patients will receive lifesaving care quickly. ... I am incredibly grateful for all the teams and people who worked with us to make this happen, and I am hopeful about the future of health care in D.C.”
