RALEIGH, NC — For over 45 years, Wayne J. Griffin Electric, Inc. (Griffin Electric) has built a name for itself as an electrical subcontractor throughout New England and the Southeast. The company’s North Carolina regions have been an important part of the company’s success, delivering more than 400 projects spanning over three-plus decades.

Griffin’s Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham offices have produced an expansive portfolio of work dating back to the company’s first project in the state in 1991, the Siemens Medical Systems Training Center in Cary. Each office has established relationships and built trust with many clients and project partners, leading to both new and repeat business though the years.

It has been a busy time for the company’s Charlotte region, and the team is contributing to a variety of projects throughout the area. A new 900,000-square-foot manufacturing facility for BMW is one of the many projects in progress for the Charlotte region, marking one of the largest projects in Griffin Electric’s history. The Hanover Dilworth, a new 16-story apartment complex in Charlotte, the Union County Southwest Regional Library in Waxhaw, and the Belmont Community Recreation Center in Belmont are a few examples of the Charlotte team’s most recently completed projects.

The Raleigh-Durham region has played a particularly significant role in helping the company to have been involved in over 100 military-related projects across the Southeast and New England. The Raleigh-Durham team currently has nearly a dozen ongoing military projects, which includes both renovation and new construction work across Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Fort Liberty, formally known as Fort Bragg. Maintaining strong ties to the military has long been important to Griffin Electric, and it has prioritized recruiting veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces across the company to strengthen its team.

With both North Carolina regions offering Griffin’s in-house Apprenticeship Training Program, the company is developing future leaders of the construction industry. The program is fully accredited, designated as an approved training site by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and offers apprentices the opportunity to earn compensation and benefits while working toward their electrical or telecom licensure.
