RALEIGH, NC — Paul DePenning joins JE Dunn Construction as Vice President of Operations, and Chyna Green has assumed duties as Senior Diversity and Inclusion Specialist for the Carolina offices. DePenning and Green are both working out of the Raleigh, North Carolina, office.DePenning brings 37 years of industry experience to JE Dunn, which include 19 Years in life sciences, five years in heavy infrastructure, and 13 years in commercial construction. His responsibilities include overseeing life sciences and Raleigh operations, which includes preconstruction, construction, building startup and commissioning management of each project and implementation of the JE Dunn Raleigh and life sciences business plan.

He was most recently a Project Director for Tetra Tech, Inc., a consulting, engineering, and construction firm. His recent portfolio includes the Konza Technopolis, a flagship economic development project for the Kenyan government. In addition, he installed a four MGD water treatment plant, dam, and distribution project for the Sri Lankan government. In the Life Sciences business sector, DePenning has completed projects for clients such as Amgen, Biogen, Eli Lilly, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Novo Nordisk, Roche, as well as other firms.

DePenning is active in the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering and the International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories. He is a sponsor and manager of The Kid’s Project, which promotes critically needed clothes, food, and supplies to impoverished and destitute kids both locally and internationally.

DePenning earned a Bachelor of Science in business from University of Colorado Boulder, where he is currently pursuing a Master of Science in civil engineering.

Green's responsibilities include building relationships with women and minority suppliers, vendors and construction-related businesses, tracking diversity activities and results, and increasing awareness among community stakeholders of JE Dunn’s commitment to diversity as a critical business imperative.

Green was reassigned from Atlanta, where she supported diversity initiatives for JE Dunn offices throughout the region, working with East Region Senior Diversity and Inclusion Manager Cherelle Cortez.

Green holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism, with public relations concentration, and a minor in hospitality management from Georgia State University.
