Rasmussen replaces Ron Mersch, who recently was promoted to Regional Leader of Olsson’s operations in Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, and Arkansas. Olsson is an engineering and design firm that does business throughout the United States.
Rasmussen joined Olsson in 2006 as an Assistant Engineer on the firm’s Kansas City Construction Services team. A year later, he transferred to Olsson’s Springfield office, where he has held a variety of roles with the Springfield General Civil team, including Team Leader since 2015.
Rasmussen has worked on several projects in and around Springfield during his time at Olsson. He helped engineer an emergency medical site in the aftermath of the Joplin tornado and then worked to build Mercy Hospital’s permanent replacement. Most recently, he has been working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the Fort Leonard Wood hospital replacement project.
“Jared has the ability to successfully lead teams, deliver exceptional results, and develop the people who work for him,” Mersch said. “Jared’s skills line up perfectly with the skills Olsson looks for in an Office Leader, and I think he will be highly successful in his new role.”
