TOPEKA, KS — Vanessa Lamoreaux, who has been serving as Interim Senior Director for the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT), has been promoted to Deputy Secretary, according to Secretary Calvin Reed.

As Deputy Secretary, Lamoreaux will oversee and lead communications functions for the agency. She will be responsible for the activities and staff of the Divisions of Safety, Policy, Performance Measures, Communications, and Public Involvement.

Lamoreaux has been with KDOT for three years, working in a variety of functions including the Kansas Infrastructure Hub, public involvement, and as a lead for the 2023 Local Consult. She is also spearheading efforts for the development of KDOT’s five-year strategic plan.

Lamoreaux has 20 years of experience conducting executive-level marketing operations, business development, event planning, and project management for leading associations, nonprofits, and government organizations. Prior to joining KDOT, she was Vice President, Administrative Services, for the Kansas Association of Realtors.

KDOT is an agency of more than 2,500 transportation professionals who together plan, construct, and manage the transportation infrastructure in Kansas.
