EFCO Appoints Bennethum as CEO, Walter as President, Jennings as Chairman of the Board
“It has been a privilege to serve as EFCO’s CEO. I’m proud of the work our team has done to build the company my father, W. A. Jennings, founded into the success it is today,” Jennings said. “I am excited about the future and look forward to the contributions of our new leadership team. This transition will be a great growth opportunity for EFCO.”
EFCO has been family-run since it was founded in 1934, in the midst of the Great Depression. Bennethum will be the first CEO of the organization who is not a descendent of founder W. A. Jennings. Ralph Jennings, Al’s brother, also once served as Chairman of the Board and President. The Jennings family will continue to be actively engaged on the board and as team members in positions across the company.
“It is an honor to be appointed as EFCO’s CEO,” Bennethum said. “After more than 18 years with the company, I am amazed by the dedication of our team, as well as the history and culture we all share. We have an exciting future ahead, and I look forward to leading this company forward.”
Bennethum previously served as Executive Vice President of Administration and Contracting prior to being named CEO. He completed coursework toward a master’s degree in industrial relations from Iowa State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Northern Iowa.
EFCO also announced that Walter has been appointed by the board to take on the additional responsibility as President of the company. Scott is the great-grandson of EFCO’s founder W. A. Jennings.
Walter has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree in business administration from Iowa State University.
