DES MOINES, IA — The Annual AGC of Iowa BBQ and Fall Days event, held in Des Moines, Iowa, was back to its full two-day schedule this year.

After a day of informative meetings held by the Executive Committee, the Education & Workforce Development Committee, the PAC Committee, and the AGC Iowa Foundation, it was time for the Annual BBQ/Open House held at the AGC Headquarters in Des Moines. The event was sponsored by Martin Marietta, Merchants Bonding Company (Mutual), and Jim Hawk Truck Trailer, Inc.

AGC of Iowa President Jeff Koudelka welcomed all those attending to the event and recognized Ricke W. Welden, Director of Field Services, for his years of service. The BBQ buffet was offered with ribs, brisket, and all the trimmings, as well as beverages.

Among the highlights of the second day’s events held at The Embassy Suites were a Q&A with Iowa Department of Transportation senior staff; a presentation by Special Agent-in-Charge Andrea Kropf of the U.S. Department of Transportation regarding fraud awareness; a practical review and information on the various forms of anti-competitive business activities presented by Stephen W. Tyler, Attorney at Law, Whitfield & Eddy Law Firm; and an AGC Iowa Board Meeting.
