Winkelmann, joining the firm as a Transportation Section Manager, brings 25 years of experience in the transportation market, working as a Consultant in the public sector for municipalities, counties, and departments of transportation. She has experience on projects ranging from gravel roads to multilane interchanges and working with all eight districts across Nebraska.
Finigan will serve as a Project Manager and provides a wealth of permitting experience in water, endangered species, cultural resources, and beyond. He brings his agency regulatory experience and knowledge of environmental services to current and prospective client work.
Winkelmann and Finigan join Omaha Office Manager Rick Besancon — who has been with Burns & McDonnell for more than 25 years — and a team of more than 15 employee-owners in the Omaha office. In addition to key hires, the office at 1111 N. 13th Street has outgrown its current space, extended its lease until 2026, and added 2,000 more square feet, giving the team more capacity to serve clients and add employee-owners as needed. Additional employee-owners are being added and there are several open requisitions in Omaha.
“We are invested in the growth of Burns & McDonnell in Omaha and Nebraska,” Besancon said. “Our well-rounded team allows us to respond to the demand for improving aging infrastructure, as well as building new infrastructure.”
