IOWA CITY, IA — Becky Svatos, PE, has been named the 2018 Senior Engineer of the Year by the Quad City Engineering and Science Council (QCESC) at its annual banquet. Svatos is a Vice President and Principal Environmental Engineer with Stanley Consultants, a global consulting engineering company.
Svatos, who joined Stanley Consultants in 2002, has dedicated her career to helping clients “clean up their act” by providing Superfund location containment regulation, regulatory compliance, spill prevention, assessment and cleanup services. She has been the driving force behind the expansion of Stanley Consultants’ environmental services.
She is a member of several boards and is a Society of Women Engineers Senior Life Member and a Charter Member of the Engineers Without Borders Iowa Chapter. She has been active in both Girl Scout and Boy Scout programs, leading activities to help scouts earn badges in environmental and engineering areas.

The QCESC is composed of over 50 local engineering and technical societies with a total membership of 5,000 engineers and scientists. The QCESC also promotes engineering and science to area youth through scholarship and engineering competition programs.
