KANSAS CITY, MO — Weitz announces that the Clark | Weitz | Clarkson joint venture earned five awards for the Kansas City International Airport New Terminal during the Design-Build Institute of America's (DBIA) 2025 National Design-Build Project Team Awards.
The five awards were announced during the Design Build Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Weitz was awarded National Project of the Year, National Award of Excellence - Aviation, National Award of Merit - Aviation, National Best in Practice - Progressive Design-Build, and the National Trailblazer in Inclusive Growth Award.
The $1.5 billion single terminal at Kansas City International Airport in Kansas City, Missouri, features 39 gates across two concourses with future expansion capability up to 50 gates. The project also includes a 6,300-space parking structure, a 15,000-square-foot central utility plant, and extensive landside and airside improvements. At just over 1 million square feet, the terminal stands as the largest single infrastructure project in Kansas City’s history.
