LENEXA, KS — Henderson Companies announces the hiring of Rhett Belser as the Safety Director for Henderson Building Solutions, the construction management sister company of Henderson Engineers. A 24-year safety industry veteran, Belser is charged with planning, developing, implementing, and supervising safety, health, and environmental protection programs in support of construction projects nationwide.

“We’re excited to have Rhett on board to build upon our solid culture of safety,” said Steve Hancock, President of Henderson Building Solutions. “Rhett brings extensive expertise and a career-long passion for protecting the welfare and well-being of others. This bodes well for both our company and our clients as it safeguards the lives and livelihoods of our people and our success as businesses as a result.”

Belser previously served as the Manager of Safety and Emergency Management for four AdventHealth hospitals in the Kansas City area: AdventHealth College Boulevard, AdventHealth Lenexa, AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, and AdventHealth South Overland Park. In that role, he ensured hospital programs and processes complied with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, oversaw the institution’s hazardous waste program, and spearheaded risk assessment and mitigation. In addition to health care, Belser has experience working within refineries, steel mills, power plants, and mining operations.

“I’m excited to enhance Henderson’s safety program, helping ensure there’s commitment and buy-in at every level of our organization," Belser said. "Engineering and building systems solutions are key, but the most important aspect is the human element."

Belser is a graduate of the University of Central Missouri, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial safety management with an emphasis in loss control. He is also a Certified Healthcare Safety Professional.
