ROBINS, IA — Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announces Jim Ellis, Vice President of Price Electric in Robins, Iowa, received ABC’s 2021 Young Professional of the Year Award. Ellis was honored at ABC Convention 2021 in Grapevine, Texas.

The Young Professional of the Year is chosen based on career achievement, leadership, and vision for the future of the commercial and industrial construction industry. Ellis was selected based on his contributions and dedication to the merit shop.

“Jim Ellis has made a meaningful, long-term impact on the merit shop construction industry on the local and national level,” said 2021 ABC National Chair of the Board of Directors Steve Klessig, Vice President of Architecture and Engineering at Keller Inc.. “As a young professional, his passion for helping ABC members develop people, win work and delivery that work safety, ethically and profitably is evident from his past performance and future professional goals. We are excited for his continued leadership of ABC on the chapter and national levels."

Ellis is the Vice Chair of the ABC of Iowa board of directors and chairs the Government Affairs Committee. He started up a utility division within his own company, which has helped grow the division into an $8 million/year part of the $30 million/year business.

ABC’s Young Professionals group aims to shape the future of the industry by supporting the growth of professionals under the age of 40 who are employed by ABC member companies.
