In his new role, Iverson will implement strategies that will integrate federal work into all of Olsson’s practices across the firm. He will also work closely with various teams at Olsson to help ensure the firm is meeting the needs of its clients on all federal projects.
“The federal market continues to be important to Olsson, and we already have built a solid foundation from which to grow,” said Jered Morris, Senior Director of Sales and Growth at Olsson. “Steve is the ideal person to lead our federal program and take it to the next level.”
Among Iverson’s duties as Environmental Team Leader, he worked closely with Olsson’s federal program on projects that had an environmental component.
Prior to joining Olsson, he spent more than 30 years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, including 14 years as the Kansas City District’s Deputy District Engineer and Chief of the planning, programs, and project management division. Before joining Olsson, Iverson was the Environmental Office Business Unit Leader as well as the Federal Market Sector Leader for the Midwest region of a global architect-engineering firm.

“Our goal is to grow federal work because the projects really tie back to our emphasis of improving the communities in which we live and serve,” Iverson said. “As we expand our federal portfolio, we want to play a key role in making the world a better place to live for military personnel as well as businesses and private citizens who depend on federal services such as flood risk management, for their safety and wellbeing.”
Iverson will continue to work out of Olsson’s office in Overland Park, Kansas.
