“The NEAT Study is rooted in MAPA’s and PMRNRD’s missions to provide safe and enjoyable access to recreation and transportation alternatives,” said RDG Principal Amy Haase, AICP. “We’re proud to work alongside both organizations to further their commitments to enhanced recreation, active transportation, and access to natural resources.”
As part of the study, RDG will evaluate various trail connections and offer guidance on priority projects for the design and construction phases. Working alongside MAPA and PMRNRD, RDG will also engage with community members and various stakeholders. The NEAT Study is estimated to complete in 2022.
“The NRD has worked with local government agencies for decades to build over 130 miles of trails throughout the Omaha metro area. We are excited to identify specific projects which will provide more access to people in all parts of our community,” said Eric Williams, Natural Resources Planner with PMRNRD.
