LAN Promotes Nakashima to Vice President
Nakashima, who joined LAN in 2010, has more than 26 years of experience as a Project Manager and Design Engineer. Currently, he leads the firm’s water and wastewater practice group where he is responsible for building client relationships, expanding the practice around the country, ensuring the design quality of the firm’s water and wastewater projects, and mentoring the engineers in the group. Previously, he served the firm as a Regional Manager responsible for overseeing the firm’s infrastructure projects in the Midwest area.
“From the time Jeremy joined our firm, he has played a key role in growing our presence in the Midwest region, managing our projects, and supporting our pump station and treatment plant work in Texas,” said Steve Gilbreath, PE, Vice President and Director of the firm’s infrastructure business group. “His leadership and technical expertise have been instrumental in helping us provide better service to our clients.”
During his career, Nakashima has managed the design and construction of several water and wastewater facilities throughout the country. Some of the more recent projects Nakashima has been involved with include the new Central Wastewater Treatment Plant in Conroe, Texas, Newport MUD Water Treatment Plant expansion in Houston, Twin Lakes Water Treatment Plant improvements in Crown Point, Indiana, as well as wastewater treatment plant projects in Galveston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi.
Nakashima holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states. He is a member of the Water Environment Federation and the American Water Works Association, where he chairs the large valve installation task force and is Co-Vice Chair of the butterfly valve standards committee.
