ATLANTA, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announces the Atlanta District is the recipient of the 2025 Texas Bluebonnet Safety Award.
The Atlanta District includes Bowie, Camp, Cass, Harrison, Marion, Morris, Panola, Titus, and Upshur counties. The Atlanta District plans, designs, builds, operates, and maintains the state transportation system in its nine counties. The district primarily conducts asset preservation and mobility projects to ensure the safety of the traveling public.
Atlanta District Engineer Katie Martin was presented the Outstanding Safety Achievement Award at a ceremony in Austin, Texas.
TxDOT, along with the Associated General Contractors of Texas, award the Texas Bluebonnet Safety Award to organizations taking steps to proactively lower incident rates to zero. The program compares the organization’s safety record with other comparable entities.
“Employee safety is top of our minds every single day we come to work,” Martin said. “We all want to make it home safely at the end of the day.”
