DALLAS, TX — Safety Management Group (SMG), a national provider of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) services, is deepening its investment in the Lone Star State with the launch of a new Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) office. The move reinforces SMG’s long-standing partnerships in Texas and brings localized, field-experienced leadership to support construction and industrial clients across the region.
While SMG has delivered boots-on-the-ground safety leadership in Texas for years, the new DFW location marks a strategic milestone.
“This isn’t a market expansion; it’s a commitment,” said Jon Ludrick, MBA, CSP, who will lead the office as General Manager. “We’re not parachuting in. We’re building with and for the companies that are driving Texas forward.”
Ludrick brings more than a decade of operational and consulting experience to the role. Known for his innovative approach and collaborative leadership, he is focused on providing tailored, practical safety solutions that resonate with crews in the field.
“When we show up, we’re part of the team. Our advisors are embedded into operations — not observers on the sideline,” Ludrick said.

Joining him is Jay Helms, a longtime Texas safety leader with experience overseeing multi-trade construction and contractor performance across oil and gas, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. Helms will focus on growing contractor partnerships and client engagement across North Texas.
“We understand the pace and complexity of Texas projects," Helms said. "That’s why we take a hands-on approach, whether it’s managing high-risk work or building stronger prequalification and contractor safety systems.”
Both Ludrick and Helms are supported by SMG’s broader team of over 300 full-time professionals and the company’s suite of integrated services. These include SMG’s ProSolutions program for embedded safety leadership, strategic EHS consulting through Insights, comprehensive environmental support, and real-time risk management enabled by the VERO platform.
The DFW office will serve as a regional hub for SMG’s Texas operations, providing streamlined access to field training, compliance audits, incident response, and program development. It also strengthens access to specialized services like contractor safety oversight, environmental permitting, strategic risk consulting, and technology-enabled reporting through VERO and QHSE Connect.
