In his new role as CEO, Rossie will continue serving on Webcor’s Board and Executive Committee. Pedersen remains at Webcor in an advisory role. “Jes guided Webcor out of the 2008 recession,” Rossie said. “His leadership has been instrumental in shaping Webcor into the innovative, dynamic, client-focused company it is today. His insights and knowledge are indispensable as he passes the CEO title to me.”
Pedersen and Rossie have been working closely on the transition since it was announced a year ago.
Rossie, a 22-year Webcor veteran, was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer on January 1, 2022. Prior to that, he had been EVP and COO since April 2020. His career has included several other executive leadership roles at Webcor, including Senior Vice President and member of Webcor's executive team.
Throughout his tenure, Rossie has been credited for his successful oversight of some of Webcor's largest and most complex projects with multifaceted project delivery elements, including design-build and public-private partnerships. Such projects include the UC Merced 2020 Expansion, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission Headquarters, SFMOMA Expansion, and the California Academy of Sciences.

In addressing Rossie's assumption of Webcor’s top role, Pedersen said, "Matt has been preparing for this transition for a long time. He is well prepared to lead Webcor on the path we have established over the last several years while bringing his own unique vision and talents to the role.
"Matt has instilled confidence in every project team and client with his unique ability to see the big picture while simultaneously diving into details and tactics,” Pedersen added. “He is taking the reins at a very challenging time, given the impacts of the pandemic and rising interest rates, but I have no doubt that his ability to devise unique solutions and build trust will lead to a pipeline filled with exciting new projects."
One of the first initiatives Rossie plans to tackle is the completion of an update to Webcor’s strategic plan — an effort he has been overseeing for several months. “Once complete, the plan will introduce the next set of company milestones to ensure we have the right culture to pursue those projects in the market sectors that will support profitable growth,” Rossie said.
Despite his long tenure with Webcor, Rossie plans to spend his first few months as CEO listening to employees, clients, and partners to refine his vision for Webcor’s long-term future.
