Balgi has more than 25 years’ experience as a Planner, Designer, Manager, Programmer, and Team Leader. She has designed research and laboratory projects for such clients as the University of California San Francisco, Stanford University, California Department of General Services, National University of Singapore, Northwestern University, University of Pennsylvania Health System, Texas A&M University, Pfizer, Merck, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Before HGA, she led planning and design of education, research, and laboratory projects at leading architecture firms in the San Francisco Bay Area. Deepa has a Master of Architecture from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the National Institute of Technology in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India.
