CHICAGO, IL — HNTB Corporation welcomes Jeffrey Keirn, PE, to its Chicago office as Principal Engineer. Keirn brings more than 32 years of statewide experience planning, designing, building and maintaining Illinois’ network of highways, roads and bridges. His decades of service to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT); leadership of critical projects, such as the I-270 bridge over the Chain of Rocks Canal; and relationships built across the industry will help HNTB clients and colleagues excel as they collaborate to solve mobility challenges.

Keirn provides technical engineering expertise to project teams and clients, offers guidance on complex engineering projects, resolves technical issues and provides independent technical reviews. He also supports senior-level management and mentors staff, in both the Chicago and Indianapolis offices.

Keirn joined IDOT in 1986 and held a variety of engineering and project management roles. Most recently, he served as Region 5 Engineer overseeing the administration, location, design and construction of state-controlled highway facilities across 27 counties. Keirn earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Purdue University and is a graduate of IDOT’s executive leadership development program.

In Chicago, HNTB has involvement with infrastructure projects such as, program management for IDOT’s work on I-80 and I-90, and the I-55 public-private partnership; management of the Chicago Region Environmental and Transportation Efficiency program; and IDOT District 1 Land Acquisition on-site support.
