Lee Joins HNTB as Office Leader in Ohio
Lee, an Associate Vice President, brings more than 15 years of industry, legal and entrepreneurial experience to the role, and recognized expertise in advancing diversity and inclusion in the public transportation sector. As Ohio Office Leader, she leads more than 30 multi-disciplinary professionals committed to delivering highway, bridge, toll, aviation, transit and emerging technology improvements across the state.
Prior to HNTB, Lee served as Principal at a consulting firm focused on helping transportation agencies such as Ohio Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Transit Administration navigate Ohio’s compliance requirements for disadvantaged business enterprises (DBE). Her work also helped DBEs position for state opportunities by guiding them through strategic planning processes, government procedures, certification, procurement and contracting requirements.
“Sarah’s leadership and drive to advance diversity, equity and inclusion will benefit both HNTB teams and clients as they collaborate on mobility solutions that strengthen our communities and economies,” said Chris Gale, President of HNTB’s Great Lakes Division.
HNTB works on Ohio transportation projects, such as the Smart Columbus initiative and replacement of the Jeremiah Morrow Bridge. Clients include Ohio Department of Transportation, City of Columbus, Cuyahoga County and others.
In addition to serving clients and leading the HNTB team in Ohio, Lee actively volunteers with the Columbus chapters of the National Association of Women Business Owners and the Council of Minority Transportation Officials, as well as other local organizations serving the city.
Lee earned her Juris Doctor at Capital University Law School in Columbus and a Bachelor of Science in social work at Ohio State University.
