McHugh Construction Completes Topping Out at Vista Tower in Chicago
Built by McHugh Construction and designed by Architect Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang, Vista Tower is on schedule for completion in 2020 after construction began in 2016. The completed tower will consist of 396 condominiums, a five-star hotel and an array of amenities, including a sky terrace with an outdoor pool, spa, Tesla car-share program, golf simulator, wine-tasting room and more located at Club Vista on the 47th floor. Standing at 101 stories, Vista Tower will offer residents and guests views of the river, Lake Michigan and the city.
“The topping out of Vista Tower marks a momentous occasion, not just in our construction timeline, but also in the impact that Vista Tower has on the Chicago skyline,” said David Carlins, President of Magellan Development Group. “The tower can now be seen soaring amongst other supertall buildings, exciting our homeowners, future purchasers, hotel guests and Chicagoans alike.”
Vista Tower has already received acclaim as one of the most anticipated architectural projects in the United States. Consideration has been put into every detail of the project, from the selection of blue-green exterior glass to reflect the colors of Lake Michigan and the Chicago River, to the gem-inspired interior finishes of each unit. The tower will be a part of the Lakeshore East neighborhood, the award-winning community built by Magellan Development Group.
Lakeshore East is bordered by the Chicago River to the north, Columbus Drive to the west, Lake Michigan to the east, and East Randolph Street to the south and is adjacent to Chicago’s Millennium Park, Magnificent Mile and central business district. Vista Tower is located at the intersection of East Wacker Drive and North Field Boulevard along the Chicago River.
