Hackett brings nearly seven years of experience to Dewberry’s resilience engineering team. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a Coastal Engineer and Diver, and was responsible for breakwater and dredge design, construction management, and designing marina layouts. As a certified diver of the Association of Diving Contractors International, Inc., Hackett performed underwater inspections of structures to evaluate their structural capabilities, determine repairs and/or useful life, and aid in the engineering design of structures.
“Hackett’s experience in the marine environment will be the springboard into additional private sector projects, and expand our variety of capabilities in marina design, near-shore structural restoration, hydraulic/mechanical dredging, and floating dock design,” said John Boulé II, PE, Senior Vice President and Business Unit Manager for Dewberry.
Hackett received his bachelor’s degree in ocean engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Coasts, Oceans, Ports, and Rivers Institute.
