NEW YORK, NY — AECOM Tishman announces that Executive Vice President Allan Paull, Civil/Structural Engineering, PE, has been selected as President of the Building Contractors Association (BCA), an industry organization that facilitates and maintains relationships with labor leaders in New York City, Long Island, and Westchester Country. Founded more than 90 years ago, BCA provides a unified contractor voice for long-term labor-management relationships that support major construction projects throughout the region.
With more than 45 years of experience, Paull currently oversees the structural design and construction for all AECOM Tishman projects nationwide. In addition to designing and developing complex engineering solutions, he has negotiated more than 50 project labor agreements for New York buildings, including Three World Trade Center, Four World Trade Center, One Vanderbilt, and New Terminal One at JFK International Airport.
“The Building Contractors Association is an important organization that helps to ensure the relationship between labor and management is both equitable and effective for our industry, and Allan is an outstanding choice to lead this group at such a critical point in our history,” said John O’Hare, Managing Director at BCA. “With a half-century of experience, Allan has dedicated his life to the construction industry, and thanks to his knowledge, skills, and expertise, AECOM Tishman has reshaped the New York City skyline, leading transformative projects that have generated billions of dollars in economic activity and improved the quality of life for New Yorkers. As President of the BCA, Allan will continue to support our clients and colleagues so we can make New York a better place to live, work, and build.”
“It is an honor to be selected as President of the Building Contractors Association, and I look forward to working closely with our member representatives, our staff, and New York’s labor leaders to continue moving our industry forward,” Paull said. “Our collective work creates new jobs and new business opportunities for New Yorkers, and it is a privilege to lead the BCA as we negotiate labor agreements that ensure those opportunities continue for the next generation of builders.”
Composed of construction managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other industry related entities, BCA provides negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements with the Building Trades Unions. Representing New York construction firms, including AECOM Tishman, the group has approximately 200 members which perform every aspect of the construction process.
