Turner Tops Out Hudson Valley Community College's Applied Technology Education Center

TROY, NY — Turner Construction Company joined Hudson Valley Community College, project partners, trade contractors, and community leaders to celebrate the topping out of the Applied Technology Education Center (ATEC), marking a major milestone in the construction of the college's new academic facility.

The topping out ceremony recognizes the placement of the building's final structural steel beam, signifying the completion of the building's structural framework and the continued progress toward delivering a new workforce development facility.

Once complete, the approximately 130,000-square-foot Applied Technology Education Center will provide learning environments designed to prepare students for careers in advanced manufacturing, semiconductor technology, engineering, robotics, clean energy, and other rapidly growing industries. The facility will support hands-on education through specialized laboratories, flexible instructional spaces, collaborative learning environments, and industry-focused training areas that strengthen New York's expanding technology workforce.

Throughout construction, Turner has worked closely with the college and project stakeholders to maintain safety, quality, and schedule performance while minimizing impacts to ongoing campus operations.

The Applied Technology Education Center is expected to become a regional hub for technical education, equipping future generations with the skills needed to support New York's growing high-tech economy and reinforcing the Capital Region's position as a leader in advanced manufacturing and semiconductor innovation.
