ALBANY, NY — Gilbane Building, in a joint venture with DPS Advanced Technology Group, has topped out the NanoFab Reflection facility, an innovative addition to the NY Creates Albany NanoTech Complex. This 310,000-square-foot research and development hub marks a key step in the $1 billion investment into the Albany NanoTech Complex and supports New York State’s $10 billion semiconductor strategy.
“With this milestone, we are taking a major step toward securing the future of advanced chip research right here in New York State,” Governor Kathy Hochul said. “This $1 billion investment I secured for NY Creates paves the way for good jobs, stronger communities, and an innovation economy that keeps our state competitive on the global stage."
The project will support hundreds of new permanent high-tech jobs, generate $9 billion in private investment, and harness the power of expanded partnerships with universities, workforce programs, and global semiconductor companies. The topping out ceremony marks the installation of the final steel beam of the NanoFab Reflection structure, highlighting its on-schedule construction progress. Completion of the building is anticipated by the end of 2026.

NanoFab Reflection will feature 50,000 square feet of ISO5 cleanroom space across two levels, complemented by two additional floors and a rooftop penthouse. The project also includes a new 900-car parking garage and an upgraded high-voltage switchyard to meet the demands of next-generation semiconductor research. Once complete, the facility will anchor North America’s first publicly owned High NA EUV lithography center, positioning New York as a global leader in advanced chip development. The building is being constructed to achieve the highest level of LEED certification.
