In the Washington, D.C. office, four professionals have been promoted to associate: Lucy Moore, AIA, LEED AP, BD+C; Charles Sparkman, AIA, LEED AP, BD+C; Carolina Uechi; and Maureen Vosmek.
Moore is a Project Architect and Historic Preservation Specialist. She has designed numerous historic preservation and modernization projects in the civic, cultural, and higher education realms. Moore holds a Master of Architecture (2014) and a Master of Arts in historic preservation (2014) from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts in history from Harvard University (2006). She is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the Association for Preservation Technology International, and DOCOMOMO.
Sparkman is an Architect and former Faculty Member in the University of Virginia School of Architecture. He has completed design projects nationwide in the higher education, cultural, and institutional markets. Sparkman holds a Master of Architecture (2012) from the University of Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts (2009) from Duke University. He is a member of the AIA and USGBC.
Uechi is a Designer who has contributed to many of the firm’s high-profile projects for the Smithsonian Institution and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. She holds a Master of Architecture (2014), a Master of Arts (2012), and a Bachelor of Science (2010) from the University of Maryland.

Vosmek is a Designer and Preservation Specialist who has contributed to numerous cultural and higher education projects, including the modernization of the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. She holds a Master of Architecture in historic preservation (2008) from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts in art history and studio art (1996) from Franklin and Marshall College. She is a Fitwel Ambassador.
Dan Carter, AIA, has been promoted to Associate in the Baltimore, Maryland, office. An Architect with more than 25 years of experience, Carter has completed numerous design, renovation, and adaptive use projects in the cultural, civic, and higher education markets. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture (1994) from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Carter is a member of the AIA.
Allie Jarett, AIA, has been promoted to Associate in the Richmond, Virginia, office. Jarett has extensive expertise in the design of K-12 and higher education facilities as well as libraries. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture (2011) from Virginia Tech. Jarett is a member of the AIA and serves as a team leader and mentor through the USGBC’s Connect the Dots Green Schools Challenge program.
