COLUMBIA, SC — The South Carolina Department of Transportation along with the Town of Summerville and Dorchester County officials, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of Berlin G. Myers Parkway.
Construction on the Berlin G. Myers Parkway Phase III Project began in 2022 and is anticipated to be complete more than a year ahead of schedule. The purpose of this project was to improve safety, alleviate congestion, and improve the flow of traffic through the area. The total cost of the project was $160 million.
"The completion of the Berlin G. Myers Parkway more than a year ahead of schedule is a testament to what Team South Carolina can achieve when local, state, and federal leaders work together," Governor Henry McMaster said. "As South Carolina's population continues to boom, our infrastructure must keep pace. This project is a great example of the transformative investments we're making in the Lowcountry and throughout the state to meet that demand.”
"Berlin G. Myers Parkway is a vital route for the growing town of Summerville," Secretary of Transportation Justin Powell said. "We are excited to celebrate this project's completion ahead of schedule so that we can continue to move people and goods through South Carolina and improve our economy."
