AGC/VT Celebrates Women in Construction Week With Statewide Industry Leaders and NAWIC Vermont

MONTPELIER, VT — The Associated General Contractors of Vermont (AGC/VT) celebrated Women in Construction (WIC) Week with a special event at its headquarters in Montpelier, Vermont, bringing together tradeswomen, industry leaders, educators, and community partners to recognize the growing impact of women across Vermont’s construction workforce.

The gathering highlighted the ongoing collaboration between AGC/VT and the National Association of Women in Construction Vermont Chapter (NAWIC Vermont), an active partnership dedicated to expanding opportunities, strengthening visibility, and supporting women entering or advancing in the trades.

WIC Week, observed nationally each March, honors the achievements of women in construction while supporting workforce development, mentorship, and pathways for future generations. AGC/VT’s event featured conversations focused on career advancement, leadership, and the shared commitment to building a more inclusive and resilient construction sector in Vermont.

Anne Minor, President of NAWIC Vermont, emphasized the power of partnership in creating meaningful opportunities.

“When we bring our organizations together, we create a stronger, more supportive environment for women to thrive in construction," Minor said. "Vermont’s workforce needs talent, and women are stepping up, leading projects, and shaping the future of our industry. Our partnership with AGC/VT ensures that momentum continues.”

“[This] gathering reflects the best of what our industry can be: collaborative, forward‑thinking, and committed to opening doors," Wobby said. "Women are essential to Vermont’s construction future, and our partnership with NAWIC Vermont helps ensure that every woman who wants a career in this field has the support, training, and opportunity to succeed.”

AGC/VT and NAWIC Vermont will continue to collaborate throughout the year on training initiatives, mentorship programs, and outreach efforts designed to introduce more women and girls to careers in construction.
