“Sundt is pleased to be selected to bring this critical infrastructure to the communities,” said Mike Neher, Sundt’s Project Manager. “Our group of skilled builders are nationally ranked in building this kind of infrastructure, which provides safe and reliable drinking water to communities across the country.”
The treatment plant is located near the intersection of SW 124th Avenues and SW Tualatin-Sherwood Road and will be capable of initially treating 60 million gallons per day with the ability for future expansion to 120 million gallons per day.
The treatment plant will sit on 30 acres that will also include roadway improvements, setbacks, and a forested overlook. The site location is ideal due to its naturally stable geology, meaning the plant will have superior seismic resiliency and better able to withstand a catastrophic natural disaster.
Sundt will act as the contractor, directing nearly 70 scopes of work to develop the project. Work will involve several local companies and national vendors, boosting the area’s economy.
