CAMAS, WA — Two Pacific Northwest communities are preparing for major investments in public safety as Howard S. Wright, a Balfour Beatty company, advances new fire station projects in Camas/Washougal, Washington, and Tualatin Valley, Oregon, delivering modern facilities designed to support first responders and the residents they serve.
In southwest Washington, Howard S. Wright has broken ground on The City of Camas’ Fire Station 41 and Administrative Office project, a new approximately 25,000 square foot facility that will serve as the centralized headquarters for the Camas‑Washougal Fire Department’s fire and emergency services. Located in downtown Camas, the project maintains the department’s long-standing presence in the community while enhancing response readiness and operational efficiency.
The new facility will support daily emergency operations and include apparatus bays, firefighter living quarters, training and operational support spaces, and administrative offices serving both Camas and Washougal. Designed to replace aging infrastructure, the station will provide modern space that supports emergency response, firefighter safety, and the long‑term needs of the community. Construction is currently underway.
In Oregon, Howard S. Wright was recently awarded the Beaverton Station 67 remodel project on behalf of Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, enhancing a core facility for emergency services in the state's largest fire district. Delivered through a progressive design‑build approach, the new station will improve response capabilities and support long‑term service needs across 11 cities and portions of four counties.
Together, the projects reflect continued public investment in emergency services as local jurisdictions invest in modern facilities to support current and future emergency response needs.
