Taylor received her award during the 2021 Virtual WTS Awards & Scholarships Gala. She was nominated by one of her team members and fellow WTS member, Diana Giraldo, PE, HNTB Project Manager and Associate Vice President.
“Throughout her career, Wendy has been a role model for so many in the industry. She recognizes and motivates great talent to bring engineering concepts and ideas forward. Her vision allows her staff to set bold goals, and she provides her team with the space and ability to grow and thrive,” said Giraldo in the nomination.
Taylor joined HNTB in 1993 and has been active in WTS since 1998. She has more than 35 years of experience in managing and developing transportation facilities. Her experience includes leadership on the Washington State Department of Transportation’s I-405 program for the past 19 years. In addition, Taylor is a role model and mentor for young women within the transportation industry. Her involvement includes having supported WTS’s Transportation You youth program, serving on the organization’s Executive Advisory Board, and as a Scholarship Committee chair.
