OREGON CITY, OR — PCL Construction Services, Inc., joins Fengate Asset Management (Fengate) in celebrating their dual wins at the 2024 P3 National Awards, where the Clackamas County Courthouse Replacement Project was honored with two awards: Best Social Infrastructure Project and the Environmental Impact Award.
The Clackamas County Courthouse Replacement Project addresses the need to replace the existing courthouse — originally constructed in 1936 to service a population less than 50,000 — with new infrastructure that meets modern sustainability standards and is equipped to support the needs of a growing population of more than 420,000.
The new courthouse targets LEED Gold certification and incorporates several sustainability features to improve environmental performance, including photovoltaic panels, high-efficiency equipment, and the electrification of systems. Once operational, the project aims to reduce electricity use by 53.4 percent and natural gas use by 88.1 percent from the baseline — a total target greenhouse gas reduction of 62.2 percent every year.
Fengate-led consortium, Clackamas Progress Partners, composed of Fengate Asset Management, DLR Group, PCL and Honeywell, was awarded the contract to design, build, finance, operate, and maintain the new 257,000-square-foot courthouse in 2022. Construction is scheduled to be complete in 2025.
