LEHI, UT — The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) announces the start of construction on the new 2100 North freeway connection in Lehi, Utah.
The project will build a new, 2.8-mile-long freeway-to-freeway connection between Interstate 15 and Mountain View Corridor, creating a faster route for people traveling across northwest Utah County. Crews will also build 14 new bridges, two new pedestrian bridges, nearly 2 miles of shared-use paths, and realign or reconstruct 2 miles of existing trails to improve access for pedestrians and cyclists.
“As Utah County continues to thrive, we are investing in projects like this to keep Utah moving,” UDOT Region Three Director Rob Clayton said. “This new connection will make it easier for people to get where they need to go.”
Traffic engineers estimate the new road will save east-west commuters approximately 12 minutes in each direction during peak travel times upon completion.
“This project strengthens how communities connect to the rest of Utah,” UDOT Project Director Andrew Jordan said. “By linking Mountain View Corridor directly to I-15, we’re making it easier for residents to travel across the region. Whether that’s commuting to work, visiting family, or heading out to enjoy everything the beautiful state of Utah has to offer.”

The 2100 North connection is one of several projects included in the state’s nearly $1.4 billion investment to improve transportation in northwest Utah County.
In December, UDOT opened a 4-mile segment of Mountain View Corridor between 2100 North and Porter Rockwell Boulevard. The new road includes two lanes in each direction, five pedestrian bridges, and a 12-foot-wide multi-use path, providing a new travel option for residents in this rapidly growing area.
Connecting Mountain View Corridor to I-15 will serve as a critical link in the region’s transportation network. The connection is expected to reduce pressure on nearby routes such as Redwood Road (State Route 68), one of the most congested corridors in Utah County.
Another project underway to improve east-west travel is Pioneer Crossing Flex Lanes, which will improve traffic flow along State Route 145 and is expected to be completed in 2026.
