TEMPE, AZ — Tempe, Arizona-headquartered Sundt Construction received the construction industry’s leading award for construction safety, known as the AGC Construction Safety Excellence Award (CSEA) Grand Award, at the national Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) Annual Convention.
“Earning this award for the third time reflects how we continue to live out our core value of safety to ensure everyone goes home to their loved ones, every day. We are honored by the recognition of our safety program and the efforts of our employee-owners,” Sundt President and CEO Cade Rowley said.
A major component to Sundt’s Safety By Choice Program is Stop the STCKY (Sh*t That Can Kill You), which was recognized by AGC in 2024 with a first place Innovation Award. The program was constructed to recognize and mitigate STCKY hazards, providing a framework for individuals to identify, implement, and execute direct controls and safeguards against the most dangerous activities on a job site.
“The STCKY program has completely changed how we view and make decisions about hazardous work,” said Paul Levin, Sundt Senior Vice President and Director of Health, Safety, & Environment. “It provides our employee-owners and trade partners a clear and practical framework to identify job site hazards and take the necessary steps to prevent serious injuries and fatalities.”
Since introducing Stop the STCKY, Sundt has provided program training to more than 80 companies.
