Balfour Beatty’s Los Angeles-based special projects operations are led by Project Executive and area native Alan Wahlstrom. Wahlstrom, who previously managed the company’s special projects in the Mid-Atlantic, brings more than 43 years of industry experience with a focus on core and shell and interior buildout work and expert skills in estimating and operational excellence.
Alongside Wahlstrom, Balfour Beatty Vice President of Operations Emily Kay will support and oversee the local operations. With more than 29 years of experience in the construction industry, Kay has been recognized as one of the top Outstanding Women in Design and Construction. She fosters a culture that empowers teams to deliver successful projects and create lasting relationships.

Since establishing its Los Angeles special projects operations, Balfour Beatty has been awarded a $2.9 million contract to deliver the City of Beverly Hills’ shell improvements project. The project is critical to successful delivery of a future tenant buildout and features core and shell improvements to a 9,500-square-foot tenant space.
