MALIBU, CA — Members of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) have elected Rossana D'Antonio, PE, GE, F.ASCE as President of the society for the 2027-2028 term after a month-long election. She is currently a member of ASCE’s Public Policy and Practice Committee which guides the society’s public policy and government relations activities affecting the civil engineering profession.
D’Antonio previously served on the ASCE Board of Direction from 2022 to 2025 and served as Region 9 (California) Governor-At-Large for ASCE from 2017 to 2020. She also held multiple leadership roles with the ASCE Los Angeles Section. D’Antonio is currently Executive Director at NV5, a global consulting firm. Prior to joining NV5 in 2024, she spent nearly 35 years with Los Angeles County Public Works, where she was promoted several times, completing her tenure as Deputy Director of Municipal Services and Emergency Management.
ASCE President serves as the chief representative and spokesperson for the society, working with ASCE’s Executive Director. The President chairs the Board of Direction and the Executive Committee and assists in educating and motivating members and potential members by promoting the society’s principles, policies, and goals. The President has a one-year term but will spend three years advancing ASCE initiatives in the roles of President-Elect, President, and Past-President.
“We need to make our work visible — not just to policymakers, but to everyday people. We need to show how infrastructure shapes equity, safety, and opportunity,” D’Antonio said. “I want ASCE to be a trusted voice in public conversations about infrastructure policy, safety reform, and smart investment. Because when people understand what we do, they will value it. And when they value it, change happens.”
In addition to her involvement with ASCE, D’Antonio has extensive volunteer experience in the engineering profession. She is a Past President and Board Member for the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists and served on the Disaster Response and Resilience Subcommittee of the President’s National Infrastructure Advisory Council in 2024. D’Antonio earned her Bachelor of Science in civil engineering at California State University Fresno and a Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University.

D’Antonio will be inducted as President-Elect at ASCE’s annual business meeting in October.
