SACRAMENTO, CA — Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange (SRBX) will celebrate the 125th anniversary of its 1901 incorporation with a milestone Gala on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, from 5 to 8 p.m. at SAFE Credit Union Convention Center in downtown Sacramento, California. Registration has reached 380 attendees.
SRBX traces its roots to 1888, when Sacramento builders and contractors began organizing around relationships, shared knowledge, and the needs of a growing construction industry. An 1891 Sacramento Daily Record-Union account described the association as a place for builders and contractors to strengthen relationships, understand business needs, resolve disputes, and advance shared industry interests. The gala will connect that early mission with the people and companies carrying the region's construction community forward today.
The evening will feature Sacramento artist David Garibaldi creating an SRBX 125th Anniversary painting live beginning at 6 p.m. The formal anniversary program begins at 6:40 p.m. and will recognize the 125-year milestone and legacy donors CMA Insurance Services, DPR Construction, and Pacific Coast Building Products. Wonderbread 5 is scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m. and close the celebration.
Presenting Sponsor Swinerton Builders and Gold Sponsor Skyline Scaffold are confirmed for the gala, which will bring together longtime members, current construction leaders, industry partners, and multigenerational member families around a shared regional history.
The anniversary also provides a look at how the Exchange has evolved alongside Sacramento. SRBX operated from 1013 10th Street before 1916, moved to 1508 J Street in 1925, established a home at 14th and T Streets in 1951, and moved to its current Elvas Avenue headquarters in 2017. Huldah Johnson became the first female SRBX Board President in 1985, and the Exchange launched its first Design Build Competition in 1986.

Today, SRBX serves the industrial and commercial construction industry across the Greater Sacramento region through plan-room services, workforce development, safety and education programs, government advocacy, networking, and industry events. SRBX also partners with the Construction Industry Education Foundation on workforce development and career education.
