Designed to meet the needs of life science firms, Aperture Del Mar’s first phase consists of two, four-story cast-in-place architectural concrete Class A Life Science/Office buildings providing over 200,000 gross square feet which will feature a 1,222-stall, six-level parking structure, outdoor amenity spaces, as well as high-end dining and fitness options.
Scheduled to be completed in July 2021, the master plan for the project is to develop the three additional lab/office buildings on the remaining 11-acre site for a total campus of approximately 650,000 square feet with two of the future buildings being constructed on top of a below-grade podium garage to house 260 vehicles. The coastal campus is in an ecosystem that exists to expand the horizons of biotech, pharmaceuticals, medicine, and creative technology.
McCarthy’s SoCal region is known for delivering life science facilities with some of the largest tenants in the industry occupying its buildings. Due to its experience in this space and offering self-performed concrete as a service, McCarthy is spearheading the only new, Class A life science/office development in San Diego, delivering more than 200,000 square feet by the third quarter of 2021.
