The purpose of the project is to reduce traffic at the State Route 57/60 interchange that is part of the State Route 57/60 confluence. This two-mile stretch of highway is the sixth most congested freeway segment in the country and third most congested in California.
Improvements include:
- Reconstruction of overpass bridge at Grand Avenue
- Reconfiguration of Grand Avenue eastbound on- and off-ramps
- Construction of an eastbound SR-60 elevated bypass
- Widening of eastbound SR-60 Diamond Bar Boulevard on-ramp
“The State Route 57/60 Interchange Improvements Project will increase freeway capacity, improve traffic flow, and reduce congestion in one of the most trafficked areas in the San Gabriel Valley,” said Mike Aparicio, Executive Vice President of Skanska USA Civil’s West Coast operations. “Not only will this project alleviate congestion in the area, but it will reduce emissions and improve the lives of surrounding communities.”
