ARCATA, CA — Construction is underway on the $30 million renovation of Cal Poly Humboldt’s Stewart Building in Arcata, California, a project that will transform the facility into the university’s new Healthcare Education Hub.
Designed as a health care innovation center, the Healthcare Education Hub will expand nursing education for students at Cal Poly Humboldt and College of the Redwoods, the local community college. The center will also provide hands-on training for allied health professionals, including EMTs, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and radiology technicians.
The 41,781-square-foot, two-story renovation will include simulation-based teaching labs, modern classrooms, and dedicated student support spaces to expand health care education opportunities across California’s North Coast.
“Strong partnerships are key to delivering projects that create lasting community impact,” said Dylan Rogers, Sundt Project Director. “We’re proud to continue our work with Cal Poly Humboldt on a facility that will help strengthen the region’s health care workforce.”
The Healthcare Education Hub is Sundt’s third project with Cal Poly Humboldt. Projects completed by Sundt include the university’s new Hinarr Hu Moulik student housing complex and the renovation of Jenkins Hall.
