LOS ANGELES, CA — Yoga Chandran, PE, GE, HNTB Los Angeles Office Leader and Vice President, was named General Chair for the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Geo-Institute’s 2023 Geo-Congress titled “Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions from the Ground Up.” In this role, he will be responsible for developing the overall structure and working closely with the organization to ensure the quality of content at the upcoming conference.

Chandran has a history of involvement with ASCE and has served on multiple committees, including: Soil Properties and Modeling committee; Earthquake Engineering committee; and Unsaturated Soils committee. He was Founding Member and Chair of the Geo-legislative committee. For several years, he served on the Technical Coordination Council, which provided oversight to the Technical committee. Chandran also co-chaired the first-ever joint Geo-Structures Conference held in Phoenix in 2016.

Chandran is a licensed Professional Engineer and a registered Geotechnical Engineer in California. He earned his Master of Science and Ph.D. in geotechnical engineering from the University of California, Davis.
