Stantec Adds Quezada, Jingang to its Power Team in Southern California

San Diego, CA — Stantec, a global engineering, architecture and design firm, recently expanded its growing Power team in Southern California with the addition of David Quezada and Jingang (George) Li. Quezada is the firm’s new Power Services Manager for the Southern California region, while Li is Lead Project Engineer, Transmission. The additions of Quezada and Li reinforce Stantec’s commitment to local leadership with ties to a larger global Power practice.

“Over the last year, we have focused on growing our Power team in Southern California,” said Chris Kasiewicz, Stantec Sub Sector Lead, Transmission and Distribution. “Adding David and George is a major coup for us. We are excited to see David continue to develop business for the team. George is supporting our work with Pacific Gas and Electric, San Diego Gas and Electric and Southern California Edison — all important clients. We are thrilled to add their invaluable technical expertise to our team of professionals in Southern California and beyond.”

Quezada, who will focus as Program Manager on all major Power projects, has more than 22 years of experience. Most recently Quezada acted in the capacity of a utility consultant providing professional services for San Diego Gas and Electric as a Program Manager and Senior Project Manager on the PRiME Program and FiRM Program. He also served as Executive Consultant to the Imperial Irrigation District, providing process and procedure improvement proposals for their design, construction and material handling departments.

Before that, Quezada spent more than 20 years working for Southern California Edison (SCE) in a variety of roles. At SCE, his assignments included: Transmission and Distribution Business Unit Technical Planning Design Manager responsible for the delivery of over $100 million per year for SCE’s largest projects across all major power distribution commodities; Technical Planning Distribution Substation Planning Design Manager supporting the companywide $125 million per year program; and Technical Planning Distribution Deteriorated Pole Project Manager supporting the companywide $100 million per year program; and Manager of Companywide Distribution Permit Acquisitions.

Li comes to Stantec and the San Diego area from Salt Lake City, Utah, where he served as a Senior Transmission Line Engineer/Technical Lead, working on the design and analysis of transmission projects utilizing lattice towers, steel, concrete and wood poles. Prior to that, Li worked for MWH Global, which was acquired by Stantec in 2016, as a Transmission Engineer, previously working with several members of Stantec’s WaterPower & Dams team members in Sacramento and Chicago.
