TULSA, OK — Associated Builders and Contractors of Oklahoma (ABC) announces that Crossland Construction Company, Inc.’s work on three projects in Oklahoma received awards in ABC’s Excellence in Construction awards competition. Crossland Construction was recognized during the 33rd Annual ABC of Oklahoma Excellence in Construction Awards Gala in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The Mustang Educational Resource Center has earned the company first place in the category of Institutional: $5 million to $10 million. The project is a new 27,500-square-foot split-level build for the Mustang school district, housing offices for its administration, IT, HR and finance staff, as well as the Bronco Club, the central enrollment office, conference rooms and a 200-person boardroom.
Crossland’s work on Holland Hall Student Commons has earned the company first place in the category of Institutional: $10 million to $15 million. The project is a 43,000-square-foot student commons facility that includes a new wellness center; hydrotherapy rooms; locker rooms for men, women, girls and boys; athletic administration offices; a new kitchen and cafeteria; and new conference and alumni centers.
The company’s work on the Expo Stage and Signage has earned the company first place in the category of Other General Construction: Stage. In some places on the structure, there are five different angles of steel meeting at a single intersecting point. Each column is set at a compound angle, and the beams are attached to the columns, again at compound angles. In total, the stage has six columns ranging anywhere from 13 to 15 tons each.
The Associated Builders and Contractors of Oklahoma Excellence in Construction Awards are designed to recognize and publicize outstanding projects built by members of the association. The organization hopes that the recognition will bring about a greater awareness in the Oklahoma area of the quality of work being produced by merit shop contractors.
