“Everything we do is geared towards improving safety for the traveling public, including Roadeo competitions that bring our teams together to improve techniques and learn new skills while engaging in friendly competition,” said Commissioner Willie Simmons, Chairman, Mississippi Transportation Commission. “It’s always great to recognize and celebrate the skills that our frontline workers use on the job daily. I appreciate their dedication to keeping our highways safe.”
Focusing on efficiency and skill, MDOT’s roadeos provide employees with an opportunity to display their mastery of vehicle handling, trailer maneuvering, and heavy equipment precision. The event and judging criteria provide feedback and help operators evaluate their strengths and challenges.
