Magri earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Louisiana State University. He is a Registered Professional Civil Engineer in Louisiana, as well as a Road Safety Professional by the Transportation Professional Certification Board. He has over 35 years of state service, with 27 years served at DOTD where he held prior positions as the Assistant Public Hearings and Environmental Impact Engineer, Highway Safety Engineer and Highway Safety Administrator.
Magri is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), American Society of Civil Engineers and served as the past President of the Association of Transportation Safety Information Professionals (ATSIP). He is a past recipient of the Charles E. Dunbar Award, the highest honor a classified Louisiana state employee can receive for their service, the ATSIP Distinguished Achievement Award and the Deep South ITE President’s Award.
