Concrete Poured for New Lanes on I-20 Major Rehabilitation Project in Bossier City

BOSSIER CITY, LA — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces that the first pours of concrete are complete, creating a section of the new travel lanes as part of the I-20 major rehabilitation project in Bossier City. This marks an important milestone for the $120 million project, with this stretch of interstate being removed and replaced for the first time in its nearly 60-year history.

The new concrete is currently in place for a portion of the travel lanes near the LA 3105 (Airline Drive) and LA 72 (Old Minden Road) interchanges.

In addition to roadway base and new concrete for the through lanes on I-20, the contractor is also working on reconstructing the Old Minden Road interchange, which includes the removal and replacement of the old pavement. Extensive full-depth concrete panel repairs are also still underway on the Shreveport side of the project, with those operations taking place at night near the Pines Road and Monkhouse Road interchanges.

The entire project is anticipated to be complete in late 2025, with progress dependent on weather conditions and other factors that can impact construction timelines.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development's mission is to plan, design, build, and sustain a safe and reliable multimodal transportation and infrastructure system that enhances mobility and economic opportunity.
